Belmont Public Library

The Belmont Public Library seeks to increase awareness of the wide range of services it offers and to change how it’s perceived by Belmont residents. While the library is already heavily used, even some of its regulars still view it as a traditional place where you go to check out books.

The Friends of the Belmont Public Library hired Good Egg Marketing to assist with rebranding and marketing the library. Good Egg held several branding workshops for the marketing taskforce, using creative exercises to help them express how they want the brand to be seen and to develop key messages that can help change the perceptions.

After the committee developed a shared definition of the brand and its characteristics, Good Egg Marketing developed a creative brief and recruited a graphic design firm to create a new logo. Good Egg is now working with library management to develop a marketing plan.

“Good Egg Marketing has led us through an imaginative process to change how people view the library,” says Belmont Public Library Director Peter Struzziero. “Myrna Greenfield is helping us integrate the new messaging into existing marketing activities wherever possible, so it doesn’t require a lot of extra work.” He adds, “We’re also taking steps so we can measure whether the campaign is working. I’m looking forward to seeing the results.”
